  • Yellow Brick Music (YBM) provides its Members with 24/7 account management via logging into the YBM Portal (https://www.ybmusic.net).

    Account management with Yellow Brick Music is entirely self-serve, meaning that YBM Members must use the above website for any and all activities related to their accounts.
    YBM Staff do not have access to Member accounts to protect the security and privacy of their information.

    By registering with us you, the YBM Member, recognize that you are the sole manager of your account and so any and all changes, including but not limited to: adding additional enrollments, unenrolling, and checking program details, must be completed by you via logging into the above link. Access to the YBM Portal is granted after registration is complete.

  • Yellow Brick Music retains both excellent families and instructors.
    Due to full schedules of both parties, it is not possible to reschedule lessons and group programs.
    As you have a reserved a spot on a certain day & time, the instructor is compensated for that time on a weekly basis.

    No reschedules, make-up lessons, or refunds are available for student absences for any of our programs.

    If an instructor is unavailable for a session, a substitute instructor will teach the session.

    By default, YBM will remain open for in-person services on days of inclement weather – including when elementary/high schools are closed – or other calamities.

    If you cannot make it in-person for your session, your session will be provided online through a video chat service.

    If one of our locations is forced to close, your session will still be provided online through a video chat service.

    In the event one of our instructors is absent and a substitute instructor is not available, the family's YBM account will be credited. Please see 4. Fee Structure for the credit amount.

  • Programs are available on a weekly basis at the assigned day(s) & time(s) provided to you during registration with the exception of the situations articulated below.

    Lessons & Classes do not occur on statutory calendar holidays such as Labour Day, Family Day, Good Friday, etc.

    In addition, Yellow Brick Music has scheduled holiday breaks, including:

    2 full weeks: 1 at the end of December and 1 at the beginning of January
    1 Tuesday to Friday in March (March Break)
    1 Tuesday - Friday in the last full week of June
    1 full week at the end of August leading into September

    These break periods are incorporated into the fee structure – no lessons will occur during these periods and no make-up lessons or monies are owed for these dates.

    Please take note of these dates for future reference.

    2a. Private Lessons
    Lessons may not be rescheduled as per 2. Missed Sessions.

    By default, lessons occur year-round.

    If you would like to opt in or out of summer – July & August – lessons, you may do so via the Students page of the YBM Portal. If you do not opt out, lessons will continue in the 2 aforementioned summer months.

    Regardless of the above choice, all students are automatically re-enrolled for the following September, unless the student withdraws (see 5. Unenrolment).

    Lessons resume the following September, the day after Labour Day, at the previously-assigned day, time, and location.

    If you require a different day, time, instructor, or location for the following September, you may submit a change request via the YBM Portal at any time.

    2b. Musical Safari & Group Programs (hereinafter referred to as Group Programs)
    Classes run weekly for from September to June with the same holiday exceptions as articulated above.

    Students partaking in Group Programs are automatically re-enrolled the following September in the same day, time, and class as the previous year.

    You may switch classes, change to Private Lessons, or unenrol at any time via the Portal. We do not guarantee the possibility of transferring classes.

    Group Programs may not be rescheduled as per 2. Missed Sessions.

  • Yellow Brick Music (YBM) offers its services at a fixed monthly rate. All transactions are accompanied by an email receipt.

    The monthly fixed rate is for enrollment in one or more YBM programs. Enrollment includes the costs of: the actual class(es), 24/7 access to account management, access to concerts/public performances, registration, administration, and more.

    This rate is derived from the total cost of enrollment from the chosen date to the end of June, divided evenly over the number of months available with a discount applied.

    Some months will have greater or fewer sessions, but on average it is 4 sessions per month. The pricing is the same regardless of how many services occur within the month.
    This model is less expensive to the YBM Family than a per-session fee structure, and it offers convenience with budgeting.

    Fees are withdrawn on the first day of each month until student withdrawal, or once per year if the student is paying annually. Annual payments include a discount and are non-refundable.

    When joining mid-month, it is a set enrollment price based on the number of the classes remaining in that month. This price is specified on the registration page.

    This amount is charged on the date of registration, and the monthly payments begin on the first day of the next full month.

    If a payment fails to process on the 1st and does not arrive before the 9th of the month, late fees of 7% of the invoice total will apply. If the invoice is not paid by the end of the month, the student will be automatically enrolled from YBM.

    YBM Account Credits are only available in the case that an instructor is absent without a substitute, or the YBM Member mistakenly enrols in duplicate.

    The amount of the credit is the monthly enrollment fee, divided by 4, less 20% for the non-creditable administrative fee.

    Account Credits are automatically applied to future invoices.

    If the YBM Member completely unenrols from YBM and there are outstanding Account Credits, these will be refunded back to the YBM Member less the cost of processing the refund. The refund will be issued within ~3 days of the last class date.

    As these are YBM Account Credits, they will only appear on your YBM Billing History.

    You may access your complete billing history via the YBM Portal.

    a. Private Lessons

    Fees are not withdrawn during July & August if the student has opted out of summer lessons.

  • Unenrollment from Yellow Brick Music can only be completed by using the YBM Portal.

    Unenrollment is processed - at earliest - exactly two weeks from the submission date in the Portal. Please plan your withdrawal accordingly.

    Families must complete unenrolment through the Portal to ensure the security and accuracy of the change, as well as to ensure the final billing adjustments are processed.

  • For over three decades, Yellow Brick Music (YBM) has been proud to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for students, staff, and their families. Everyone at YBM is to be treated with dignity and respect.

    We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to Bullying, Harassment, and Workplace Violence.

    If any party is guilty of any of the above, they will be immediately dismissed from the premises and their registration will be revoked.
