General Camps Questions

  • No! There is no expectation to have experience or previous lessons. Our camps are built specifically for children who are just discovering music for the first time, as well as young students with a bit of experience. They’re designed with both beginners and intermediate players in mind.

  • Yes! Many families use summer camp as summer camps and single-day workshops to explore an instrument or style before enrolling in private music lessons. So your child can test out their interest without long-term commitment.

  • All camps are led by our staff, who are experienced music educators and facilitators who specialize in working with children. Our staff combine musical expertise with a strong focus on safety, encouragement, and age‑appropriate learning.

  • Yes! Our instructors work with children in this age range through music classes, lessons, and group programs. They’re trained to support different learning styles, confidence levels, and experience backgrounds. We keep groups intentionally small to ensure kids get hands‑on support, guidance, and a positive social experience.

  • Yes — all instruments and equipment needed for camp activities are provided on‑site.

  • Specific items to bring will be sent in an email before camp begins, along with other important details. But as a general rule, campers should bring:

    • A nut‑free lunch

    • A full water bottle

    • Comfortable clothing

    • Indoor shoes or socks

  • Registration is completed online through our registration page. There, you can choose individual camp days or multi‑day options depending on the program. Then, fill in student information, contact information, and payment details to complete your registration.

Music Explorers (Four-Day Camp) Questions

  • Our 4‑Day Music Camp is a playful introduction to music for ages 4 - 7. Over the four days, young children explore sound, rhythm, and creativity with their peers! Our camp instructors will lead them through rotating activities like DJ play, drumming, band basics, songwriting, and music‑through‑movement. The focus is on fun, confidence, and curiosity — not pressure or performance.

  • No, our approach is play‑based and exploratory rather than formal instruction or rigid structure. Kids learn through games, movement, group activities, and creative experiments!

  • Each day includes:
    • Rotating music activities
    • Group rhythm games
    • Choose-your-own creative moments
    • Snack & break times
    • End‑of‑day reflection or sharing circle

The final day wraps up with a fun pizza party and DJ celebration instead of a formal recital.

  • Yes, our approach to summer camps (and many of our other programs) is play‑based and exploratory! Kids learn through games, movement, group activities, and creative experiments rather than formal instruction.

  • Many families with younger children prefer a shorter commitment. Especially during the summer, with frequent weekend plans! Four days keeps kids engaged while feeling manageable for first‑time campers, and provides more flexibility around weekends.

  • We use small mixed‑age grouping within the 4–7-year-old range, so younger children can learn from older campers while everyone feels supported.

  • Yes, absolutely. Our instructors are trained to create a warm, inclusive environment where children can participate at their own pace. Activities are collaborative and supportive, with no solo performances required.

  • Unlike general day camps, this program is:
    • Music‑focused
    • Exploration‑based rather than instrument‑specific
    • Designed for young beginners
    • Celebration‑focused, not recital‑driven
    • Flexible and confidence‑building

Music Labs (Single Day Camps) Questions

  • Our single‑day music camps are immersive, genre‑focused experiences for ages 8-12. Kids dive deep into one style for the entire day — like DJing, rock band, or songwriting — while still exploring a variety of instruments and skills within it. Each day is designed for discovery, hands‑on learning, and creative confidence.

  • Nope. Families can register for just one day, or mix and match several throughout the summer!

  • We offer themed camp days such as:

DJ Day – Learn the concepts of beat‑matching, smooth transitions, and how DJs build a full set. Kids spend the day mixing and experimenting while learning how to control energy and song flow.

Rock Band Day (Shredders) – Try guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocals in small‑group jams. We focus on groove, listening, and band collaboration, with optional solo moments for kids ready to flex their skills.

Songwriting Day – Explore lyric ideas, hooks, and verse‑chorus structure. Campers leave with a song in progress and clear direction to keep writing on their own!

  • They’re great for kids who:
    • Want to try a music style before committing to lessons
    • Love creative, hands‑on learning
    • Are curious about DJing, bands, or songwriting
    • Enjoy focused projects and making something in a day

  • The 4‑Day Camp focuses on playful exploration across many styles for younger kids.
These single‑day camps go deeper into one genre and are designed for older campers who want to really try something specific.

  • Each day includes a full camp experience, with:
    • Skill‑building workshops
    • Guided practice time
    • Small‑group creation
    • Jam sessions or mixing labs

  • Most days run approximately 9:30am–2:00pm. See each camp’s date and time here.

  • Most local camps require week‑long registration. Our single‑day format offers:
    • Focused genre immersion
    • One‑day commitment
    • Music‑specific instruction
    • Easy trial experiences
    • Clear skill takeaways by the end of the day
